Community - Orosi

Orosi is a small coffee-growing village. At the center of town you'll find a painstakingly restored Catholic church built in 1743, which officially makes it one of the oldest churches still being used in Central America. A small religious museum is attached to the chapel and holds some ancient relics from colonial days. (link to pictures of church)
Our home away from home is the Orosi Lodge ( www.orosilodge.com ), owned and operated by Andy and Connie. From the balcony of the Lodge you have a picture perfect view of the entire village below and, on a clear morning, a view of the Irazu Valcano high above the valley. Every morning before breakfast we would walk out of the village through the coffee fields – the walk is so peaceful and quiet that it is almost meditative. Just outside of town heading toward the Tapanti Rainforest you'll find two thermal pools (reputed to have medicinal powers) with recreational facilities.
